The Department of Education, CTA announces Annual Scholarship to study Undergraduate/Post Graduate/M. Phil/PhD, Vocational & Diploma courses. If interested apply:

Important Date:

  • The last date for submission of ONLINE application form is June 15, 2018
  • Applicants who have not studied Tibetan as a language in class 10 or 12 but interested in applying for the scholarship will have to write a Tibetan Language Test & the date will be informed to the individual after the scholarship submission deadline

Department of Education announces Chiba Institute of Technology (CIT) Scholarship - 2018

The Department of Education, CTA announces Chiba Scholarship provided by Chiba Institute of Technology, Japan to study Master Program in following areas:

  • Management
  • Information and Computer Science
  • Social System Science

Document Required:

• Applicant must submit 2 (4cm × 3cm) photo (taken within last 3 month)
• A copy of Class XII Marks card, Undergraduate degree certificate & transcript, 1st & last page of your RC, IC, GB (GB of yourself & parent), letter of Recommendation from College/University - must be attested by Tibetan Settlement officer or CTA official of ranking Joint Secretary and above. (If applicant's parent lives in Tibet/deceased/separated, please submit a copy of supporting letter from the local Tibetan Settlement officer)
• A copy of Resume & Essay on A4 Size white paper.
• A copy of any certificate for Japanese language proficiency (if any) - must be attested by Tibetan Settlement officer and CTA official ranking Joint Secretary and above.

Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) - 2019

The US Department of State, Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs (ECA) has notified Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) - 2019to study two years Master Program in one the reputed University in United States of America. Those interested may apply.

Important Date:

  • Last date for submission of application form along with documents: March 16, 2018 before 5:00 pm
  • Date of General Written Tibetan Test (GWTT) & Interview will be notified by the Department of Education in co-ordination with US State Department

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants should be born on or after January 1, 1983.
  • Applicants must have completed at least four years of academic work after Class XII, including a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Partial computer courses, vocational training, and diplomas from non-recognized academic institutions will not be accepted.
  • Applicants must have secured a minimum of 55% in their Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree programs.
  • Applicants are not required to submit Class X and XII academic credentials
  • The final short listed students must have qualified Ibt TOEFL Score 85/120 & more

Who cannot apply:

  • Applicants who have completed or are pursuing M. Phil or PhD

Mode of Selection:

  • General Writtent Test in Tibetan (GWTT)
  • The TSP applicants will take the Institutional TOEFL test (ITP) on the same day after the General Written Test in Tibetan (GWTT) in Delhi and Bangalore. The TOEFL ITP test aims to get a good sense of the applicants English language ability before they sit for the final interview.

Documents* required for submission:

1. Photo: Applicants must submit one (1) passport size photo.
2. Resume and a Short Essay: The applicant must submit a copy of his/her resume and a short essay, no more than 500 - 700 words, explaining why they are applying for the Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) and what they hope to achieve from participating.
3. Registration Certificate (RC) / Refugee Certificate (RC):

  • TSP Applicants in India: Applicants must submit valid photocopies of his/her Registration Certificate (RC), and that of his/her parents and spouse (if married).
  • TSP Applicants in Nepal: Applicants who reside in Nepal must have a Refugee Certificate (RC). If an applicant does not possess a RC, than he/she can submit either one of their parent's RCs with the applicants' name stated in the document. In addition, the applicant must obtain a letter from his/her respective Settlement Officer, certifying that he/she is a Tibetan refugee residing in Nepal.

4. Green Book: The applicant must submit photocopies of his/her Green Book (identification documents), and that of his/her parents and spouse (if married). If parents or spouse are deceased, the applicant must submit a copy of their death certificate.
5. Parents: Applicants whose parents live in Tibet or have passed away must either produce a certificate from the Settlement Officer where the applicant currently lives stating that the applicant's parents are currently in Tibet or provide a death certificate.
6. Academic Certificates: Applicants must submit their College and University mark sheets and degree certificates.

7. No objection Certificate: The applicant if employed must furnish "No Objection Certificate" from the employer.

8. If the applicant has a prior visa denial from the US Embassy must inform the selection committee at Department of Educaiton or TSP SCC Nepal or Tibet Fund

* All documents must be attested by gazetted officers holding rank of joint secretary and above or Settlement Officer

Global Leadership Incubator (GLI) Scholarship - 2018

The Department of Education calls interested class XII graduates of 2017 to apply for Global Leadership Incubator Scholarship 2018 to study undergraduate program in United States of America.

Important Date:

  • Last date for submission of Online Application Form: January 12, 2018

Who can Apply?

  • Any Tibetan Student who have graduated Class XII Board Exam in 2017 with 75% and above
  • Must have scored a TOEFL Score of 90 & above

Documents required:

a. Photo copy of class XII Marks card and pass certificate 
b. Copy of TOEFL Score with 90 and above.
c. Copy of Registration Certificate (RC).
d. Copy of Green Book including Parent's.
e. Copy of Travel Document (Identity Certificate).

All the above documents must be attested by Settlement Officer or officers above Joint Secretary rank before uploading them.
