Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) - 2019

The US Department of State, Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs (ECA) has notified Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) - 2019to study two years Master Program in one the reputed University in United States of America. Those interested may apply.

Important Date:

  • Last date for submission of application form along with documents: March 16, 2018 before 5:00 pm
  • Date of General Written Tibetan Test (GWTT) & Interview will be notified by the Department of Education in co-ordination with US State Department

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants should be born on or after January 1, 1983.
  • Applicants must have completed at least four years of academic work after Class XII, including a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Partial computer courses, vocational training, and diplomas from non-recognized academic institutions will not be accepted.
  • Applicants must have secured a minimum of 55% in their Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree programs.
  • Applicants are not required to submit Class X and XII academic credentials
  • The final short listed students must have qualified Ibt TOEFL Score 85/120 & more

Who cannot apply:

  • Applicants who have completed or are pursuing M. Phil or PhD

Mode of Selection:

  • General Writtent Test in Tibetan (GWTT)
  • The TSP applicants will take the Institutional TOEFL test (ITP) on the same day after the General Written Test in Tibetan (GWTT) in Delhi and Bangalore. The TOEFL ITP test aims to get a good sense of the applicants English language ability before they sit for the final interview.

Documents* required for submission:

1. Photo: Applicants must submit one (1) passport size photo.
2. Resume and a Short Essay: The applicant must submit a copy of his/her resume and a short essay, no more than 500 - 700 words, explaining why they are applying for the Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) and what they hope to achieve from participating.
3. Registration Certificate (RC) / Refugee Certificate (RC):

  • TSP Applicants in India: Applicants must submit valid photocopies of his/her Registration Certificate (RC), and that of his/her parents and spouse (if married).
  • TSP Applicants in Nepal: Applicants who reside in Nepal must have a Refugee Certificate (RC). If an applicant does not possess a RC, than he/she can submit either one of their parent's RCs with the applicants' name stated in the document. In addition, the applicant must obtain a letter from his/her respective Settlement Officer, certifying that he/she is a Tibetan refugee residing in Nepal.

4. Green Book: The applicant must submit photocopies of his/her Green Book (identification documents), and that of his/her parents and spouse (if married). If parents or spouse are deceased, the applicant must submit a copy of their death certificate.
5. Parents: Applicants whose parents live in Tibet or have passed away must either produce a certificate from the Settlement Officer where the applicant currently lives stating that the applicant's parents are currently in Tibet or provide a death certificate.
6. Academic Certificates: Applicants must submit their College and University mark sheets and degree certificates.

7. No objection Certificate: The applicant if employed must furnish "No Objection Certificate" from the employer.

8. If the applicant has a prior visa denial from the US Embassy must inform the selection committee at Department of Educaiton or TSP SCC Nepal or Tibet Fund

* All documents must be attested by gazetted officers holding rank of joint secretary and above or Settlement Officer

Global Leadership Incubator (GLI) Scholarship - 2018

The Department of Education calls interested class XII graduates of 2017 to apply for Global Leadership Incubator Scholarship 2018 to study undergraduate program in United States of America.

Important Date:

  • Last date for submission of Online Application Form: January 12, 2018

Who can Apply?

  • Any Tibetan Student who have graduated Class XII Board Exam in 2017 with 75% and above
  • Must have scored a TOEFL Score of 90 & above

Documents required:

a. Photo copy of class XII Marks card and pass certificate 
b. Copy of TOEFL Score with 90 and above.
c. Copy of Registration Certificate (RC).
d. Copy of Green Book including Parent's.
e. Copy of Travel Document (Identity Certificate).

All the above documents must be attested by Settlement Officer or officers above Joint Secretary rank before uploading them.

Horizon Scholarship - 2018

The Department of Education announces Horizon Scholarship to study International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB) - 2018 in any of the 17 United World Colleges across the globe. All interested students may apply.

Important Date:

  • Last date for submission of Application: September 30, 2017

Eligibility:

  • Current class X & above can apply as long as the applicants age stays within the required age limit
  • A Student must have taken the Tibetan language subject in Class X or one should appear in equivalent Tibetan language test to be conducted by the DoE.
  •  A Student of Class X & XI must apply, and age must be between 16 and 18 years on/by September 1, 2018. (Student must be born between 1st September 2000 to 1st September 2002)

Documents Required:

1. A Student must submit a copy of 1st & 2nd page of Registration Certificate (RC) issued by the local Superintendent of Police. The local Tibetan Settlement officer or CTA official of Joint Secretary & above must attest a copy of the RC.
2. A Student must submit a copy of oneself and parent's 1st, 2nd and last payment page of Tibetan green book issued by the Central Tibetan Administration. A copy must be attested by the local Tibetan Settlement officer or CTA official of Joint Secretary & above. (If any student's parent lives in Tibet, or deceased or separated, please submit a copy of supporting letter from the local Tibetan Settlement officer or School's Principal.)
3. A complete application form (3 Form) with necessary document must reach the following address by post or submit in person. Please note that application sent by email shall not be considered.

Note:
1. Please note that if any of the applicant has applied for UWC or Pestalozzi Scholarship in 2017, is not required to submit a copy of document mentioned in above point no. 1 to 3, but must mention the name of the scholarship that you have applied.
2. Any promising Student whose age is over 18 may also apply for the Scholarship provided a letter of special request (clearly mentioning why he/she should be considered) from the head of School is submitted.

Department of Education announces Pestalozzi Scholarship - 2017

The Department of Education announces Pestalozzi Scholarship to study A Level Program at Claremont School, United Kingdom. Those interested may apply

Important Dates:

  • Last date for submission of Application Form: July 31, 2017
  • Date of Entrance Tests: August 11 - 14, 2017

Eligibility: Applicants to the Scholarship must have graduated Class X from any of the Tibetan Schools with a minimum percentage of 60% or CGPA 6.4 Age must be between 16 and 18 years old (born between August 21, 1999 to August 20, 2002 – attach a copy of birth certificate)

  • Student must be from low-income families, ideally with no relatives or close connections in the UK, US and/or any other highly developed countries.
  • A copy of Class 10 th Marks Card.
  • A copy of Student & Parent's Tibetan green book updated to December 2016
  • A copy of Student's Registration Certificate or Letter from Tibetan Settlement office for reason not having Registration Certificate.
  • If your parents live in Tibet, separated, or deceased, then a letter from Tibetan Settlement office is mandatory.
  • An application processing fee of Rs. 200/- must be sent along with an application form by demand draft payable to 'Tibetan Children Education & Welfare Fund'
