Why I chose filmmaking as a career:
I'm always fascinated by films and plays when I was a kid in India. I used to watch nearly all the film that is released on every Friday. In my heart of hearts, I always wanted to become an actor rather than the filmmaker. Unfortunately we do not have many filmmakers in our community, so I began making films. In the hope of pursuing my career in film and theatre, I joined TIPA as a teacher cum Public Relation Officer. Soon I would be directing plays for the institute's youth wing- RTYC. My joy knew no bound when my plays were presented to the public. In 2003, I got the opportunity to study filmmaking at the reputed SUNY Buffalo, USA under Fulbright Scholarship.

Your advice to someone interested in this field:
With the advent of digital tools and technologies, everyone can become a filmmaker nowadays. However, ultimately it is the content and not the means that draws audience to theaters.
